We are seeking to confirm our 5 year housing land supply position for the base period of 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024, by formally producing an Annual Position Statement (APS). The APS produced by Dorset Council has been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate, with their recommendation due in October 2024. The housing land supply position can then be confirmed until October 2025, subject to the recommendations of the Planning Inspectorate. The government's Published Planning Practice Guidance sets out the process for confirming the housing land supply.

Draft Annual Position Statement - targeted stakeholder engagement
Through this process officers undertook targeted stakeholder engagement on a draft Annual Position Statement (APS) with the development industry and other key consultees, from 6 June to 4 July 2024. This engagement informed the final APS submitted to the Planning Inspectorate. The draft APS has been produced with input from developers of specific sites, and this correspondence can be found in the appendices of the report.
Responses to this engagement have been published above, as well as the Draft APS and appendices produced for the engagement.
