Collect LitterLotto Coins to win Jackpots and Prizes this Summer!

Using the LitterLotto app will give people the chance to win Jackpots and Prizes this Summer.

LitterLotto, the app designed to combat littering, has joined forces with Dorset Council and Weymouth Town Council to launch the exciting “Coin Event” this summer. The event, taking place throughout August at Weymouth Beach, aims to incentivise responsible litter disposal while giving participants a chance to win big.

How It Works:

• Snap and Bin: Users simply snap a photo of litter and dispose of it in a public bin using the LitterLotto app.
• Earn Entries: Each piece of litter earns users an entry into both the £1,000 Weekly UK Jackpot and the £100 Monthly Dorset Jackpot.
• Collect Coins: Participants can also accumulate up to 75 ‘coins’ per litter item. These coins can be exchanged for various prize-draw entries.

The Coin Event offers an added incentive by guaranteeing coins for every piece of litter binned, allowing participants to accumulate coins and prize-draw entries more quickly.

Most people use litter bins when visiting the beach or take their rubbish home with them. Dorset Council aims to promote looking after our environment and encouraging everyone to dispose of their litter responsibly. By taking part in the LitterLotto event you can help encourage others to use litter bins and keep Dorset clean.

Cllr Jon Andrews, Dorset Council Cabinet Member for Place Services, said:

“Litter is something that not only harms our wildlife in Dorset, but also impacts our ability to enjoy and appreciate our living, working, and socialising environment.

“This event is a great opportunity to get people excited about taking care of nature and our surroundings, and working together as a community to reduce litter.

“I would encourage everyone to take part – even if we all only pick up one piece of litter, it would make a real difference.”
